Computer Games Day

Like computer games? Want to compete against other BB members at a fun competition to see who is the best shot, the quickest driver, the best player? Then you should attend the Battalion Computer Games Day event.

3rd Basingstoke company have hosted the North Hants & West Berks Battalion Computer Games Day event on three previous occasions with the most recent event held on Saturday 11th October 2008 at St Andrews' Church, Basingstoke.

Previous events

Winners Certificate This first Computer Games Day was held on Saturday 22nd October 2005 with the second event on Saturday 29th September 2007. A large selection of consoles were available at both events with competition events running on about half the machines and the rest free for members to just have fun with. Certificates for Winners and Runners Up get presented at the end of the afternoon, but the competition is always friendly and a good natured fun day has always been had by everyone who takes part.

Runner-Up Certificate At the event held in 2007 we had four Nintendo Wiis in action with one of them displayed on a massive projector screen which made four player Wii Tennis even more fun! We also had a brand new PlayStation 3 running a Motorstorm Competition for quickest lap in addition to PlayStation 2's running Tekken Tag Tournament, Dave Mirra BMX and Pro Evolution Soccer tournaments. With Wii Bowling and WarioWare Smooth Moves tournaments in action there was something for everyone.

At last year's event we had three Nintendo Wiis with two PlayStaion 3s and even a good old chunky X-Box. On the projector screen this year was two competition events for Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers: Brawl which were absolutely spectacular! In the Mario Kart competiton all three finalists went into the last race separated by just two points! Other competitions included Wii Bowling, Sonic & Mario at the Olympics, Pro Evo Football and Call of Duty - Target Shooting.

2009 will be bigger than ever!

This year's Computer Games Day will be even bigger than ever with well over a dozen consoles present including:

The date for 2009's event will be announced very soon, it will be in the first half of this year so you don't have long to brush up on your skills before the big day!

Boys attending the event will not need to bring anything with them because everything is provided, however if you wish, you may bring your memory cards, controllers and some games (but not too many please) - however this is entirely at your own risk and you will need to ensure you have your things with you when you leave. Refreshments are provided for everyone though we ask them to not be consumed near the machines. The consoles and television sets that will be used do belong to the Leaders and we ask everyone to please be careful and respect others' property at all times.
