Peter Waite

It is with sad regret that we must announce the passing of our Founder and first Company Captain Peter Waite on Tuesday 22nd July 2008, aged 72 years. Our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the family and thanks to Peter's youngest son Ian Waite for contacting this website so promptly.

A funeral service took place at Bridge Street Methodist Church, Andover on Tuesday 29th July 2008 at 1.30 pm. Donations in lieu of flowers to ECO. If you would like more details then please contact us.

Peter Waite was Captain of 3rd Basingstoke Boys' Brigade Company from its foundation in 1965 to 1970. In addition to founding our company he went on to help set up 4th and 5th Basingstoke Companies and served as an Officer with them for several years before moving to Andover. Without Peter's hard work and dedication so many of us would not have had the wonderful memories and experiences of being a member of this Boys' Brigade Company and I would just like to say on behalf of us all - thank you Peter and rest in peace.
